What is Life?

January 1, 2010 at 11:43 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments

The following is a Poem that I found on Jolene Pienaar’s Blog.

Life is an Adventure … Dare it
Life is a Beauty … Praise it
Life is a Challenge … Meet it
Life is a Duty … Perform it
Life is a Love … Enjoy it
Life is a Tragedy … Face it
Life is a Struggle … Fight it
Life is a Promise … Fulfill it
Life is a Game … Play it
Life is a Gift … Accept it
Life is a Journey … Complete it
Life is a Mystery … Unfold it
Life is a Goal … Achieve it
Life is an Opportunity … Take it
Life is a Puzzle … Solve it
Life is a Song … Sing it
Life is a Sorrow … Overcome it
Life is a Spirit … Realize it

Belated Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

December 29, 2009 at 10:23 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 3 Comments

Omg I so can not believe that including today there are only 2 days left of 2009.  Wow, where did that go?  I know it isn’t just me that is thinking that these months, days and years are rushing by at lightening speed at the moment.

We have had a very very busy few weeks.  I made alot of the pressies that we gave Adults this year and so had some very late nights most of last week.  Friday dawned and we opened presents and had breakfast and opened some more.  I put on a Duck to roast.  I have never cooked a whole duck before so after some research I am very glad with how it came out.  We had a quiet day with a friend of mine Lisa and her daughter who David is great friends with come over for a swim in our awesome neighbour’s pool and then lunch…Though sitting out on the deck i was wishing that it was a BBQ and salads and OMG it was sooo hot.

After an afternoon of relaxing 2 of our neigbours (brothers) came over for a drink and some desert.  One of the neighbours is the Man that David has addoped as an addopted Granddad…Then it was a quiet night with wrapping more pressies for the next day.  I will upload some Christmas Pics when I have had time to edit them.

Boxing Day dawned wonderful and after some tidying up the boys headed out to Tuakau to pick up Tanya, Cody and Jacqueline.  From 11am everyone started arriving…We had Lisa & Annelise, Louise, Steve, Joshie & Lucas.  Theresa, Patrick, James, William & Grace and Cheryl, Peter, Jacob and Kaitlyn.  With Tanya and Co there were 10 adults and 10 kids.  After a bit of playing the kids headed down to the waterslide that Richard had set up on the next door paddock that has a bit of slope.  These awesome pics are ones that Louise took.  I so need to save up for a good camera!  Then it was onto a BBQ lunch and always if you know me I always over cater totally!  Then it was onto pressies a bit of a play then desert.  After everyone headed home we had a quiet afternoon.

Sunday 27th we headed down to Hamillon for Christmas with Richard’s family.  This was lots of fun.  We had a Cold Lunch which was really yummy with lots of salads.  We are trying out different salads for when we do Inlaw’s 50th Anniversary BBQ in January.  Then it was onto opening pressies and along with Christmas Pressies I got a belated birthday pressie which was a $50.00 scrapbooking voucher…My SIL knows me so well LOL.  Then home to a very very quiet day on Monday.

I will do another post tomorrow hopefully with some Photos as Blog doesn’t seem to want to post them at the moment.  I hope everyone is having a lovely lead up to the New Years.

Bye bye Spots, SLT Gift and Tea Parties!

Well it has been a busy 10 days….David was back at Daycare on Thursday morning.  We had visited the Doc on Wednesday and he gave the all clear for him to go back to daycare on Thursday.  We had a lovely few days together and he is so into his Arts and Crafts at the Moment….Def my boy…LOL

On Tuesday morning we farewelled the most amazing SLT that you could ever want to have.  Her and her fiance are moving back to the UK.  I made this album for her and David also gave her a card and some yellow roses.

Sorry for the size of the photos Flickr seems to be playing up and so does WordPress.

While David was off he had a little tea partie with his soft toys and the pinic plates etc from our set

Well I am going to be off but will be back tomorrow night with a more updated longer update!

We have a visitor at the moment!

November 22, 2009 at 2:03 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments

Well to be truthfull David had a visitor on Friday morning or possibly Thursday night by the name of “Chicken Pox”.  Chicken Pox has been going around his daycare and their sister daycare up the road for about 5-6 weeks.  About 5 weeks ago David had all the symptoms bah the spots well on Friday morning after breakfast when Richard went to change David for Daycare he found spots…Since then they have multipilied ten fold…Here are some pics from yesterday!

These were taken yesterday and there are heaps more now but at the moment not looking as fierce if that makes any sense.

As last night was very hot and the chicken pox make you feel uncomfortable and hot any way we had a bit of a hard night but we got there.

David wasn’t very hapy yesterday when he realised that he would be missing his Daycare Christmas Party today…He has been so excited and had been walking around the house practicising the songs they were going to sing…We will put up the Christmas tree a couple of days early next weekend and make a fun afternoon of it!

This week I am going to work on finishing some Christmas presents and writing out all of my Christmas Cards and to start sending them off!  I must find the Christmas Music Cd’s!

Well must be off.  We have been making Chocolate Cupcakes this afternoon and we will be icing and eating them soon.  I have been playing around with a few different recipies.

Beautiful weather today!

November 12, 2009 at 12:34 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments

It was lovely to wake up to beautiful weather this morning.  I have had a productive morning.  Richard and I dropped David off at Daycare and then he dropped me off at Manukau about 8.30 and then i headed to the supermarket to top up on some veges and bread.  Then off to Post Office, Whitcouls and Farmers and then home by 9.45.  Well done me I say.  I have been catching up on some paper work and work this morning along with hanging some washing on the line.  This arvo a great friend Lise is coming over to scrap for the afternoon and then tomorrow I will be spending the day loading stuff onto trade me.  I have so much stuff I want to get rid of and tidy up from here.

I promise I am working on photos, just taking awhile to edit them so my goal is to upload them tomorrow while uploading pics to Trade Me.

I can’t believe Christmas is so close.  I am starting to work on what to serve on Christmas and Boxing Days.  We have decided to have something different on Christmas Day and actually have a Whole Duck to cook.  Does anyone have any fav Roast Duck Recipies?  I am going to go the full hog that day and get some Duck Fat as well to cook the Roast veges in.

Well must be off but take care and everyone have a great afternoon!

Happy Birthday & Catch Up!

November 10, 2009 at 10:01 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 4 Comments

Firstly a big Happy 26th Birthday to my amazing neice Tegan!  Girl you rock and are an awesome neice and mummy to your little boy!  Tegan was born 26 years ago on the 11th of the 11th at 11.11am…

I can’t believe that it is November already.  I have decided this year that i am making as many presents as possible.  I have about 20 or so to make (some of them are cooking but mostly scrapping related)

I have nearly finished a Callender for Richard (safe putting on here as I know he doesn’t read my blog.  I am just starting to make a Kaiser Bird House for my Mum’s Birthday who’s going to be 66 this year on Nov 28th.  Along with making that we are unfortunatly losing our ever amazing SLT that David has had since March….She and her finace are moving back to the UK to live.  We are going to miss her so much, she has helped David sooo much.  To thank her I am making a Kaiser ABC album for her…I managed to get some pics of her when she was here a few weeks ago on the bias that I was and (will) do a layout about David and her and how much she has helped him.  I am going to use some of these photos in her album.  I will do an update tomorrow on how his SLT work is going.

On Sunday we headed out to Glenbrook for Thomas & Friends.  We had decided not to tell David about it just incase something happened and we couldn’t make it or the weather was bad.  We told him that we were going out for a surprise and out on a Trip….He was loving that and said “Me like trips, me last went to butterfly creek”.  We turned up at Glenbrook and he could see a Train but not the face on it and then OMG when he did he was like “Thomas, me ride Thomas, now, now, now” I have some amazing pics which I will update and upload shortly.  I have some layouts in the pipeline to use these amazing pics in.

We also have David in a Play Gym class down at Bruce Pulman Park every Saturday morning from 10 – 11am and he is loving it…He was a little aprehensive with the balance beams which is only to be thought of.  As each week goes by he is embracing each part of the circuts more and more…There is an area of one of the circuts that has 2 paralel beams which are low level and they have to walk along with hands on one and feet on the other…Richard helps the first time and then david just goes for it and loves it.

Well back to working on my presents and will be sure to take some pics and post them here.  I will post some more over the next few days with some photos!

Perfect Day for Scrapping!

September 27, 2009 at 9:01 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | 5 Comments

I am sitting here with the light on even though the curtains and blinds are open…It is pouring with rain and with Richard off to work and David at Daycare I think it might be a day to hibernate inside and Scrap and not feel guilty for not being outside…I will work on some of my office tonight and scrap today..

I have had a great weekend….Saturday morning Richard & David dropped me off at Scrapbook Studio to crop with the girls!  It was an awesome day and I got nearly 3 layouts finished…Just need to add some journalling and some more embelishments and then I will take pics and upload them.  Thanks Annelie for organising this crop….It was great to see and hang out with everyone.  Another highlight of my day was Louise and family quickly poping in to say hi with Lucas….I got to have cuddles and OMG what an amazing boy he is…I also got to hang out with his awesome older brother Joshie…Joshie if Mummy reads this I will get her to tell you that you rock!  The boys picked me up and we decided we would treat ourselves and have Fish n Chips for Dinner…

Yesterday Richard woke up with a little bit of a Tummy Bug so we left him in bed and after a breakfast of Pancakes (some chocolate, requested by David) David hopped onto his bike and I pushed him up to the Botanical Gardens up the hill and road from us….I luckly got a handle for his trike the other day…After a hot chocolate and fluffy and waiting for it to stop raining…(it had been clear when we left) we headed down with our map that David had found and had planned our walk/ride down to the Children’s Garden…David loved having his map….After going around the Potters Childrens Garden we started heading home via the Bakery for a treat for Morning Tea….Richard was starting to feel heaps better…After lunch and some quiet time David headed outside to invent some ball games and had a blast – he was outside for nearly 1 1/2 hours and had to call him in when it started to get a bit cool…

Well since I started writing this blog entrie the rain has got heavier and heavier so the Chickens will be staying in their coup today and I might actually put the oven on and make some cookies….I have heaps and heaps of Cornrflakes that I got on special so some Afghans might be in order as well.

Well here I am again – beit a little latter than I had hoped!

September 11, 2009 at 1:38 am | Posted in Uncategorized | 2 Comments

As the title says I am finally here again…Quite a bit has been going on and I am def going to try and do more blogging to stay in contact with everyone and also to record memories for myself…

To start off I have actually resigned from the Crafty Tart DT…It was a very hard decision but I have been sick on and off for the last 3-4 months and have never come 100% right and have also just spent the last week with the flu.  I am also needing to re evauluate things and do more for myself and get on top of family, things around the house and scrap when and what I want…I have loved being on the team but am now totally looking forward to get on top of things and just having more time for me and family…  I need to stop taking on so much stuff.

What else has been happening?  I am onto the 2nd Round of the Sketchbook Spring Challenges and just loving it and finding it very inspiring.

Last Sunday being Father’s Day and me being in the middle of a horrible flu I wasn’t able to finish Richard’s pressie so am finishing that at the moment…He also scores well this weekend as it is his birthday on Sunday…Last weekend I took David out to choose a pressie for daddy which he did for his birthday along with a card, pen and wrapping paper.  Hee hee can’t wait for Richard to see what David has chosen…i will take a pic on Sunday and upload it.

Tomorrow we are off up to see Louise and family so I am in the process of making a crockpot caserolle for their dinner tomorrow night and lots of baking to help them out when their new little man arrives…I hate not living closer…

Okay I am off now..Take care and check back again soon.
